Pop-ups! I just finished a couple pop-up dinners in Kansas City last week, and they were a great success. I was lead chef for a taco fest at Yoli Tortilleria, and we sold 269 tacos in just two hours! As you can see, there was a line around the block. A few days later, my friend Rachel Rinas was lead chef (I ran the wood-fired grill and made the sausages) for her pop up at The
Russell, which was also a hit.
I love these events because they let me meet you in person, and actually feed you my food. It's one thing to make the recipes on Hunter Angler Gardener Cook, but I really love cooking for you personally. Stay tuned for more this year as I travel the country.
And, on a sad note, Holly and I lost our dear cat Harlequin last week. She was 16 years old, and was very sick, so it was not unexpected, but losing a pet
is never easy. I wrote about her life, and why pets matter, on our website To the Bone.
